Photographing the Menehune Fishpond Overlook was Shelley and I’s last location on our last day on the island of Kauai. I always have a little bit of a hard time writing or talking about the last photograph of the trip, but of this trip, it has taken me a lot of thought. I have needed to push past the events of 2020. Those events have made this post harder for me to write than any other.
Menehune Fishpond Overlook – Kauai
There are reports on the Internet the Menehune Fishpond may be over 1,000 years. What I know for sure is that the Menehune Fishpond Overlook offers a view of water with a background mountainous peeks. And with the right conditions, there is an ultra-wide panoramic photograph in my future from the location. Even with the harsh light that Shelley and I were presented with when we were there, I was able to come away with a final photograph from Kauai that I am more than happy with.
I made this photograph with my Nikon D600 at ISO 100, 24mm, f/10, 1/2000 of a second.
