National World War I Museum and Memorial

Description

This photograph of The National World War I Museum and Memorial was made in December of 2017. I was out in the early morning before blue hour fully kicked in.  I was drawn to the Memorial and the lights of the Kansas City skyline in the background of the Memorial.  The sky was layered with lower-level and high-level clouds.  At first glance, the sky appeared to be fully overcast on that morning. I was about to give up on the composition when the sun began to rise.  As it did it lit the different layers of clouds which created a blue light.  The blueness of the sky was any there for a few short moments.  It was during that short period of time that pressed the shutter button and was rewarded with this photograph.
