Morocco – Part 6
The Blue City in the Blue Hour - Chefchaouen Morocco

After I finished photographing the riad we loaded up in the car and left for our next destination, the town of Chefchaouen, located about two and half hours to the north of Fes.  This town is nestled in the Rif Mountains and is known for its buildings being painted various shades of blue.  Along the way Shelley was taking pictures as Tracy drove.  Clicking on the photographs below will bring up a full screen version.

Riad Dar Echchaouen

Shelley and I had made reservations to stay at Riad Dar Echchaouen (http://www.darechchaouen.com/eng/), while my cousins were staying in the old medina. The riad had a great view of Chefchaouen.  It being the off season, the riad was fairly quiet.

DINNER

For dinner that night we ate by candlelight at the restaurant at the riad.

Shelley and I loved the local food.  One could very much make a trip out of the various places and styles of food there were to eat.  Everything was fresh and flavorful all along the way.

Chefchaouen by Moonlight

After finishing dinner Shelley and I walked around the riad’s grounds.  The Moon was starting to peek over the mountains that are located behind the riad.  We went back to the room and grabbed the tripod.  It was time for some photography.
