Ceuta at Night
This was the last night in Ceuta and after a late dinner I wandered the city looking for the light of the night. This is something that I already loved doing, and since the Morocco trip I have found that I love photographing cities in the early morning and late evening light more and more.
THE DRAGON’S HOUSE
PLAZA DE LOS REYES
The Door of the Royal Hospital of Ceuta at Night
PLAZA TENIENTE RUIZ
PILLARS OF HERCULES
Ceuta is the southern Pillar of Hercules, or where the Mediterranean Sea opens into the Atlantic Ocean. In Ceuta there is a sculpture dedicated to this. As I wandered that night back in March of 2013, I knew what locations I wanted to photograph at night from our wandering from that day. Even after 10 PM I was willing to attempt making photographs, as I was not sure if we would ever make it back to Ceuta.
After photographing the Pillars of Hercules I wandered along Paseo de las Palmeras
ROYAL WALLS OF CEUTA
Toward the end of wandering for the night I came to the Plaza de Armas of the Royal Walls where I saw that the Moon was beginning its descent toward the mouth of the Mediterranean Sea.
This location was close to where the group was staying, while in Ceuta. So, this was the end of my night of photography and the end of our groups time in Ceuta, Spain.
